Top 5 most popular actors amongst British part II
So far, friends, we have revealed who are the actors taking 5th and 4th place in the ranking of the website YouGov.co.uk. for most popular actors in cinema. These were Keanu Reeves, Samuel Jackson and Sean Connery (jointly in 5th place) and David Tennant and Bruce Willis (in 4th place). Let’s keep going up!
The third place is again shared by two: Michael Caine and Robin Williams.
Michael Caine’s real name is Maurice Joseph Michaelwhite. Born in 1933, he began his career in times far removed from our modern times. But his filmography is full of famous roles, and he is loved and respected to this day not only in film circles, but also by viewers. His tall figure and enigmatic smile add to his popularity. More recent films with him include The Dark Knight in the Batman series, The Prestige, also starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman – both films by the great Christopher Nolan – and Paolo Sorrentino’s brilliant Youth.
For Robin Williams, this universal favorite of fans of good comedy, what that could be said will be little! Perhaps there is not a fan of cinema who did not laugh with him in “Mrs. Doubtfire”, who did not thrill to “Dead Poets Society” and “Good Morning Vietnam”, who did not return to childhood with ” Jumanji” and “Hook”. His untimely death shook all viewers and made us think about the loneliness of depression.
Second place on the ranking is for our favorite Tom Hanks. He’s a sweet-looking actor who we could swear is the nicest man on Earth. He plays, both in romantic roles and in roles of a determined man, and one of his roles – the one in “The Terminal” – presents him as a Bulgarian, a victim of international laws, who is forced to live in an airport terminal. Of course, you also admired him in the role of Forrest Gump in the film of the same name, in “Shipwrecked” (for this role, the actor really transforms from a slightly plump city man to a muscular and strong island dweller), in the funny film “The Big One” , in “Insomniacs in Seattle” and many others.
And now, let’s see who is the most popular actor according to the British, or we should rather say, who are the two who share the first place!
An amazing woman – Judi Dench is one of them. Of course, we follow the career of the actress in her later years, but we still understand what a giant figure in the acting profession she is. Every role she plays somehow stands out from the rest, even if it’s episodic. She is famous for playing M in the James Bond series, as Queen Elizabeth in “Shakespeare in Love”, starring in Kenneth Branagh’s “Murder on the Orient Express” and many other memorable films. Dame Judi Dench is a recipient of the Order of the British Empire for her services to theater and cinema.
The audience’s second choice for first place is the charming and imposing Morgan Freeman. Let’s not forget that he was chosen for the role of God in “Almighty Bruce” and in the subsequent “Almighty Evan”. His delightful presence and suave demeanor rubs off on every film he appears in. Main or secondary, his roles are long remembered. “The Shawshank Redemption”, “One Million Dollar Girl”, “Seven”, “Amistad”, “The Bucket List”, “Driving Miss Daisy” and many more are worth seeing at least once more.
We have presented you the ranking of the site YouGov.co.uk for the most popular actors among the British. And you, friends, who are the actors from the cinema that you admire?
